Silent Hill completes 14 years today! What are your thoughts about the evolution of the series?
Bloody Disgusting has elected the best and the worst horror games of 2012, based on votes from community, and Silent Hill HD Collection, Downpour and Book of Memories are between them!
It all starts with the award for the Best HD Remaster/Port, giving Silent Hill: HD Collection the first place
Following the first award, we have Silent Hill: Downpour as the winner of the scariest game.
Silent Hill: Book of Memories, however, gets a second place place on “Most Disappointing game category.
Finally but not least, Silent Hill: Downpour gets a new award: the bronze medal on “Game of The Year” category, behind The Walking Dead videogame and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.
It was known today that Tomm Hulett has left Konami, after 7 years working for the company as producer of the last five Silent Hill games (Origins, Shattered Memories, HD Collection, Downpour and Book of Memories). His entrance in the Silent Hill series was marked by the departure of Team Silent, the original team that created the series we know today, so, some fans tended to hate Tomm, refusing to accept his efforts to revive the series. Things have changed, but recently we were able to see some improvements on Silent Hill, with the recent release of Downpour, last year, which shown a bit more of how bright the future of the series could be. Some fans loved the last games while others just refuse anything new, so Tomm Hulett has been basically blamed for all the “bad” stuff that happened to the series, being considered as the destroyer of all the Silent Hill legacy left by Team Silent, instead of being the savior of the series, which is actually the truth.
Maybe now Tomm can rest and for the first time feel that he’s not the most hated person between the Silent Hill community, because someone else will take his place, maybe the next producer. Of one thing I’m sure, he did a great effort to bring Silent Hill back to its glory.
About the future, I can’t predict it, but again, I’m sure about one thing, it doesn’t matter how good or bad a possible game will be, haters are gonna hate.
So I’ve been introduced to Kumbuya, a big place for everyone to share their interests and ideas through groups or “tribes” that basically discribes those same interests and allow the “leaders” to gather more people with their same interests! There wasn’t a Silent Hill tribe yet, so I decided to create one myself. Make sure you join the tribe, so you can join discussions with other fans that might come! See you there ^^
