Hear samples from Silent Hill Downpour in Amazon.com

Curious to hear the soundtrack for the upcoming Silent Hill Downpour? You can now hear the 30 seconds samples through Amazon.com that has them available to public! This way you can know what’s coming and what to expect.

So far they look pretty good, Daniel Licht did a great job on the soundtrack as every single song seems to be full of expression and will probably succeed to add more atmosphere to the whole game! However I was really expecting to hear something from Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, it doesn’t seem to make part of the list of songs available so far, but as they are samples I have hope that she’ll be present in one of them (at least), as it was previously confirmed.

One of the songs that impressed me the most was Don’t Go In The Basement, only because of it’s resemblances with some of the tracks from Silent Hill 2 OST by Akira Yamaoka. The rest are great as well!

Silent Hill Downpour released track and thoughts

Since I started listening to Silent Hill music, Akira Yamaoka became one of my favourite artist alongside Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. Their work in Silent Hill is so unique that, when Akira decided to leave Konami, I was a bit worried about it. At first I didn’t know what to expect but soon I realized that the newcomer Daniel Licht, specially know for composing for Dexter, could handle the situation, however I didn’t imagine that he would that so well. The new Downpour track released just came to make my opinion stronger, I really liked what I heard and I can’t wait to get my hands, not only on the game but also on the soundtrack, specially because I’m very curious to hear Mary Elizabeth McGlynn’s tracks as well! I believe Daniel is Akira’s perfect substitute in Silent Hill but of course that his work will remain as it is, great and unique music that marked the whole series. It great to be able to hear two fantastic artists .

Silent Hill Downpour gameplay video

Here’s a new video of Downpour’s gameplay, showing a bit more of the exploration of the town. So far it looks great, the atmosphere is all there and makes me think that it might be the welcome return of Silent Hill! Plus, we’ve been able to see another achievement/trophy unlocked, its name is “Silence is Golden” and it has something to do with The Screamer.
